<p>PURPOSE:To easily and rapidly detect whether the width of a tape of an cartridge is enlarged one or not by detecting the presence and the absence of a lock out section by a lock out detection mechanism when a cartridge is loaded into a cartridge container section. CONSTITUTION:When a data cartridge 301 having a lock out section 131 is loaded into a cartridge container section 2, a tip 131a of the section 131 pushes a lock out section detection switch which is provided at a tip section of a locator 4 as a lock out detection mechanism 9. Thus, the loaded cartridge 301 is recognized as a data cartridge having a section 131, for example, an 8mm width magnetic tape data cartridge.</p> |
