PURPOSE:To provide a method and an apparatus for heat accumulation combustion, having no possibility of causing damage to an air changeover means and the like due to combustion of combustion exhaust gas and also having no possibility of making work environment worse even in the case where the method and apparatus are applied to a reducing kiln. CONSTITUTION:A pair of heat accumulation units 3, 3 through which combustion exhaust gas and combustion air pass alternately are attached to a furnace body 1, and a process of allowing combustion exhaust gas to pass through one heat accumulation unit 3 to accumulate heat therein while allowing combustion air to pass through the other heat accumulation unit 3 to preheat the same is repeated. Air injection nozzles 8 are provided at the portions on the furnace body side, which are apart from these heat accumulation units 3, and after carrying out combustion by injecting air into combustible combustion exhaust gas discharged from a reducing kiln, exhaust gas is allowed to pass through the heat accumulation unit 3. |
