PURPOSE:To provide an image forming material with which images are formable by simple dry process processing and which has a high sensitivity and good preservable property and an image forming method using the image forming material. CONSTITUTION:This image forming material has a layer contg. the dialdehyde expressed by formula and ammonia or compd. having a primary amino group on the supporting base. This image forming method uses such image forming material. Z: an atom group necessary for constituting a 5- or 6-membered heterocycle.
