PURPOSE:To provide a developing device capable of always stably obtaining a satisfactory image irrespective of the remaining amount of developer. CONSTITUTION:As for the developing device 3 constituted by including a developing container 5 for containing toner (developer) (t) and a developing sleeve (image carrier) 6, a part of the developing container 5 is constituted of a flexible bellows-like expansion member 13 and the expansion member 13 is pressed by a spring(pressing means) 15 in one direction (the direction of reducing the volumetric capacity of the developing container 5) through a movable partition wall 14 attached on the end part of the expansion member 13. Thus, the volumetric capacity of the developing container 5 is gradually reduced in accordance with the reduction of the amount of the toner (t) remaining in the developing container 5, so that the developing container 5 is always filled with the toner (t) up to the upper part of the developing sleeve 6, the toner (t) is always sufficiently supplied to the developing sleeve 6 irrespective of the amount of the toner remaining in the developing container 5, so that the lowering of image density and void generated in the conventional way can be prevented. |
