PURPOSE:To prevent a picture not so good from being taken because light is superposed on a main subject even when a partially light part exists on the background of the subject by setting proper discontinuing time in circumstances where strong vibration exceeding the ability limit of a vibration proof device is caused in the case of flash-synchro photographing. CONSTITUTION:This camera is provided with a photographing auxiliary light emitting device, a shake amount detecting device 1, and a shake correcting device 4 correcting shake based on a shake signal from the detecting device 1. As for relation between the longest shutter time in the case of flash-synchro photographing on which light is emitted synchronizing with a shutter and the longest shutter time in the case of non-flash-synchro photographing on which the photographing auxiliary light emitting device is not allowed to emit light; the longest shutter time in the case of flash-synchro photographing is made shorter than or equal to that in the case of non-flash-synchro photographing at the time of performing the flash-synchro photographing while driving the correcting device 4.
