<p>PURPOSE:To widen an effective range of a turbocharger to the engine low rotational side without impairing any output characteristic on the engine high rotational side by providing a fixed vane positioned in the downstream of exhaust gas from movable vanes, and along a turbine blade, and making a structure for controlling the position of the movable vanes. CONSTITUTION:When a setting mode is in the low flow rate range, movable vanes 173, 174 remains in the closed state (a solid line position), and exhaust gas having a relative little flow rate from an engine is guided to a turbine blade 170 from an exhaust gas inflow port 171a through an exhaust passage 171 between the movable vanes 173, 114, and a fixed vane 176 and a housing 172. At this time, the exhaust gas is guided to a nozzle part C having the smallest cross section and compressed, and its flow velocity is increased, so as to effectively rotates the turbine blade 170 since the flow passage area of the exhaust passage 171 is gradually narrowed.
