Test process for degree of blockage of catalytic converter

The process measures the degree of blockage or freedom of passage of a catalytic converter (3) mounted on the exhaust system (2) of an internal combustion engine (1). A pressure gauge (5) is connected to the exhaust system (2) through an opening (4) formed at the entrance to the catalytic converter (3). The pressure at the entrance to the catalytic converter (3) is measured while the engine (1)is running.A standard manometer (5) can be utilised with a connection piece designed to fit the opening used by the lambda sensor utilised on some engines.
