INFORMATION FLOW RATE LIMIT DEVICE

PURPOSE:To use a communication controller efficiently by changing a limit amount depending on the congestion state of a communication controller. CONSTITUTION:A buffer capacity counter 7 counts the number of resident information blacks in an output buffer of the communication controller, a congestion decision comparator 14 compares the number with a preset threshold number set in a congestion decision register 13 to decide the congestion state of the output buffer and to output a congestion decision signal to a selector 17. A shift register 12 stores an arrival history of an information block on a communication line detected by an information block detector 11 as a bit string. The selector 17 selects one of monitor time correction values stored in a monitor time correction register 16 with the congestion decision signal and a subtractor 18 subtracts the selected monitor time correction value from an applied transmission interval of a communication line user stored in a T0 register 15 to calculate a monitor time T.
