PURPOSE:To improve operability and usability by enabling the remote control of an equipment without a remote controller for infrared ray transmission by detecting the operation of a human body by a pyroelectric type infrared ray detection element. CONSTITUTION:When the remote control of an equipment is started, signals of detecting a human body is outputted from pyroelectric type infrared ray detection elements 4a to 4g to a CPU 5 in this order by passing a part of the human body such as hands through detection areas 2a to 2g in this order within a time set by the CPU 5. In the CPU 5, the pyroelectric type infrared ray detection elements 4a to 4g are monitored and a remote control enabled mode is set when the detection signals are outputted from the pyroelectric type infrared ray detection element 4a to the pyroelectric type infrared ray detection element 4g in order. When the remote control enabled mode is set in this way, the detection areas 2a to 2g are assigned to the functions of the equipment performing the remote control and the CPU 5 is allowed operate the function of the equipment according to which detection area the human body is detected in. |
