A method, esp. for making long pasta such as spaghetti, consists of shaping the pasta lengths before or after drying so that they will fit inside a cooking vessel. Pref. the pasta lengths are shaped by curving them, e.g. into arcs or spirals with a maximum dia. of between 10 and 20 cm. Other shapes, such as U or S bends can also be visualised, or they can be fashioned into a crown made from a single long pasta length or a number of shorter lengths. The pasta crowns could be made, for example, in sizes corresp. to one or two individual servings, making it easier to judge the amt. required.
