<p>PURPOSE:To produce an electrophotographic toner not degenerating a photoreceptor and having satisfactory environmental stability of electrostatic charge. CONSTITUTION:A polymerizable monomer adsorbed on the matrix of a toner is polymerized using a cationic polymn. initiator having a group forming a functional group represented by formula I or II to obtain the objective electrophotographic toner with a polymer stuck to the surface of the matrix. At least one of functional groups represented by the formulae I, II has been bonded to a terminal of the polymer. In the formulae I, II, each of X and X is H, 1-6C alkyl or hydroxyethyl, each of R1 and R2 is H, 1-3C alkyl or cyano, each of R3-R5 is H, 1-6C alkyl or hydroxyl and Y is an atomic group required to form an optionally substd. 5- to 9-membered heterocycle.</p> |
