PURPOSE:To prevent the damage and deterioration of a fuel injection pump, and to make the injection pressure of the fuel injection pump higher in the case of a light load. CONSTITUTION:A relief valve 30 is composed of a relief port 86, a valve body 41, a press-contacting member 42, spring seats 43, 44, a pressure spring 45 and a pressure adjusting screw 46. When the injection pressure of the fuel injection pump exceeds the working pressure of the relief valve 30, the valve body 41 of the relief valve 30 is pushed in a direction opposite to a fuel injecting path 82 and moved to open the relief port 86 for preventing the injection pressure of the fuel injection pump from exceeding a fixed value. After depressurized through the relief port 86 and pathes 87, 88 by a labyrinth section 32, a part of fuel oil in the fuel injection path 82 passes through the pipe path 34a of a curved pipe 34 and moreover depressurized by the labyrinth section. |
