PURPOSE: To provide a diagnostic kit for detecting human papilloma virus(HPV) infection, by including protein L1 of HPV 16 or the effective amount of immuno logical part of the same. CONSTITUTION: HPV 16 open reading frame E4 and L1, particularly N terminal site L1/1/2 and C terminal site L1/23/2 are cloned for manifestation, and the corresponding proteins of E4, L1, or a part of the same, are isolated by using the general recombination technique, the suitable manifestation vector, and the purifying method known in the field. A protein for control is similarly prepared from a host cell including the manifestation vector without inserting the virus. Generally, the testing comprises the intracutaneous injection of 0.03-0.05ml of the protein solution of about 9-15μg, particularly about 10μg of the effective amount of protein L1 of HPV 16, and the injection of the control solution.
