PURPOSE:To stably form a thin toner layer while maintaining the reduction of driving torque and the miniaturization of the device. CONSTITUTION:The developing device 24 is provided with a developing roll 33 for carrying the toner in contact with a photoreceptor drum 21 and developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor drum 21, a supply roll 34 for supplying the toner to the developing roll 33 and a doctor blade 35, etc., for forming the thin toner layer on the developing roll 33 in press- contact with the developing roll 33. The developing roll 33 is formed by winding a rubber member 33b having the rubber hardness >=40 deg., the thickness of the rubber >=3mm around a core bar 33a. As for the doctor blade 35, a metallic thin plate 35b is stuck to an elastic member 35a and the blade 35 is supported by a supporting member 36, and the whole blade is pressed by a spring 37 (37' and 37''), the flat surface of the metallic thin plate 35b is brought into press-contact with the developing roll 33. The flat surface of the metallic thin plate 35b is roughened and the ten-point average roughness Rz is specified to be 1 to 10mum. |
