PURPOSE:To realize a soft decrease of current, in a closed circuit comprising a soft stop circuit and a water-cooled magnet body, by setting the impedance of a connecting line between the soft stop circuit and a load at a lower value upon power interruption. CONSTITUTION:A water-cooled magnet 1 is combined concentrically with a supeconducting magnet 3 to constitute a hybrid magnet 5. the power supply for the water-cooled magnet comprises an A/D converter 12 for feeding the water-cooled magnet 1 with a DC current, a capacitor 14, a switch 15 for controlling discharge of the capacitor 14, and a soft stop circuit 13 for feeding the water-cooled magnet 1 with charges from the capacitor 14 upon power interruption. An impedance is inserted into a line connecting the soft stop circuit 13 and the water-cooled magnet 1 and a throw-in unit 18 connected in parallel with the impedance is thrown in upon power interruption. This constitution suppresses abrupt decrease of current effectively. |
