PURPOSE: To manage a server so that the performance of the server matches sufficiently with a performance target of a client by defining an importance value to obtain the performance target by each performance target and allowing the server to assign performance class to clients each having a different importance target. CONSTITUTION: A system manager sets a performance target of a client, and it is stored in a performance target section 141 being a storage section of a data storage device 140. The performance target is set in the unit of a transaction reply time with respect to each client and includes a definition of an importance of each performance target relating to the performance target. The content of the performance target section 141 is read by a system with a job load management program 105 of the operating system. The job load management program decides to which of each individual client the performance class is to be assigned depending on each target defined by the system manager.
