PURPOSE:To provide a tablet discrimination system which securely discriminates the brand of a tablet by extracting features of the tablet without depending upon human's visual discrimination. CONSTITUTION:An image of the tablet to be discriminated is picked up by a camera 1, a feature vector is extracted from the image, and the distances between the feature vector and reference vectors of respective brands in a discrimination dictionary 108 are calculated; and correct answer candidates for the respective brands are determined in the order of a 1st candidate, a 2nd candidate, a 3rd candidate... from the shortest-distance candidate. A candidate display part 110 reads tablet images regarding the respective brands whose order is determined out of a data base 111 and displays them on a display screen in the order. The number of candidates which can be displayed at a time is variable. Further, explanatory sentences of efficacy of a medicine medical effects and side effects of an optional candidate can be read out of the data base 111 and displayed when necessary. |
