PURPOSE:To effectively use a charging battery power source by reducing the power consumption even while using a large sized liquid crystal display panel. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a power source circuit for switching driving voltages VDD, V1 to V5 to common and segment electrodes when the whole area of a liquid crystal display panel being a display object is used and driving voltages VDD, V1 to V3 to common and segment electrodes when a portion of the liquid crystal display panel having an effective pulse height value smaller than these driving voltages is used by means of operations of switches SW1 to SW5, and based on driving voltages from this power source circuit, common and segment electrodes corresponding to the whole area or a portion of the liquid crystal display panel are switched and driven. |
