PURPOSE:To reproduce an appropriate edited video data for many playing data employing necessary minimum number of video data, to display the data as a background picture, to especially reproduce an appropriate edited video data for 'KARAOKE' music playing data which has no associated story and to display a background picture which gives no strange feeling to a 'KARAOKE' user. CONSTITUTION:Video genre data which are added to playing data are read (S100) and the presence and the absence of an associated story to the music is identified (S110). If there is an associated story (S110:YES), no edited video data are selected and a normal reproduction process for the video category corresponding to the read video category data is performed (S115). On the other hand, if there is no associated story (S110:NO), the video category data which are read are identified (S120, S130 to S180 and S190) and a no-story reproducing process, which reproduces no-story edited video data for each video category, is executed (S200, S300 to S800 and S900). |
