PURPOSE:To reduce engine noises, eliminate uncomfortable feeling, and improve recovery efficiency of deceleration braking energy by idly operating an engine under operation at the time of low-speed running, decelerating, or stopping a car, and thereby reducing an engine output. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary engine 4 is so driven that shifting to hybrid running is conducted from a running by a motor 2 when a charging ratio of a battery 3 is lowered. Operation condition detection means 32, 33 are provided for detecting an operation condition of a car. An engine 4, at least, is capable to be controlled to stopping, idling operation, and constant operation. When control means 10, 20 judges low speed running, deceleration, or stopping of the car during operation of the engine 4, the engine 4 is controlled to idling operation for reducing an output of the engine 4. Reduction of engine noises and elimination of uncomfortable feeling are attained, while recovery efficiency of deceleration braking energy is improved. |
