PURPOSE:To provide the device and method for color-coded pattern evaluation which objectively evaluate the color-coded pattern of a plane material such as paper, cloth, etc., in terms of colors and composition. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with an image input means 2 which inputs image data 10 of a two-dimensional image in RGB format, a color display converting means 3 which converts the color image data 10 in RGB format into image data in HSV format represented with hues and lightness of saturation, a hue and saturation integrated data generating means which generates hue and saturation integrated data 11 from hue data and saturation data on the basis of the hue data as the angle of a specific complex plane to an actual number axis and the saturation data as the distance of the complex plane from an origin, a fluctuation characteristic value calculating means 4 which finds fluctuation characteristic values of the hue and saturation integrated data 11 and lightness data 12 from the power spectrum values and total frequency of the hue and saturation integrated data 11 and lightness data 12, and an evaluating means 5 which evaluates the color feeling and composition of the color-coded pattern on the basis of the fluctuation characteristic values respectively. |
