摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity of a one-way clutch by providing piston means for pressing and frictionally engaging variable length joint means, and by engaging a pair of members with each other by the reaction of a cam mechanism in the joint means so as to allow the piston means to act even though the members are reversed. CONSTITUTION:When a clutch disc 6 is normally rotated so as effect hydraulic pressure, a piston 1 moves cam members 2, 4 left and right, overcoming a return spring 5, and accordingly, the cam member 4 makes contact with the clutch disc 6 so that the cam member 6 is caught by the clutch disc 6 so as to be rotated in the same direction as that of the disc 6. An inclined surface of the cam member 4 climbs up on an inclined cam surface of the cam member 2, and accordingly, the piston 1 and the cam member 2 are pushed back leftward by the reaction of a thrust force for pressing the clutch disc 6, and come to a stop. When the cam member 4 is rotated, only a force in a direction in which the cam member 4 is pushed rightward, is effected. If the clutch disc 6 is reversed, the inclined cam surface is lowered so as to inhibit reverse rotation. Accordingly, it is possible to eliminate the necessity of a one-way clutch.</p>
