METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IMAGE GENERATION

PURPOSE:To perform DMA transfer of not only drawing instructions, but also control instructions and enable the DMA transfer even when the data length of instructions is not fixed. CONSTITUTION:The drawing instructions and control instructions generated by a CPU 42 are transferred to a drawing device part 61, which draws an image according to the drawing instructions and control instructions. The drawing instructions and control instructions are constituted in data structure which consists of a header part and an instruction data part and has an instruction discrimination code for discriminating the kind of an instruction at the header part. A drawing instruction sequence is composed of the drawing instructions and control instructions according to procedures of drawing and control. This drawing instruction sequence is transferred by DMA to the drawing device part 61 through a transfer means 45. The drawing device part 61 performs the drawing and control in the order of the drawing instruction sequence.
