<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a display defect after the final inspection by providing an inspection apparatus with a signal generating source for supplying signals to electrode lines and auxiliary electrode lines and a resistor for inspection which is inserted into these auxiliary electrode lines and are shorted. CONSTITUTION:The auxiliary electrode lines 7a, 7b are formed on an active matrix substrate l and are intersected with the electrode lines 3a, 3b of column signals via insulators 12 to make the intersected parts 9a, 9b electrically connectable. The electric connection of the intersected parts 9a, 9b enables the supply of the signals to the electrode line 3b through the auxiliary electrode lines 7a, 7b when the electrode line 3b intersected with the auxiliary electrode lines 7a, 7b is disconnected at a defect point 11. The resistor 8 for inspection having a prescribed resistance value is then inserted into the auxiliary electrode lines 7a, 7b to supply the signal to the auxiliary electrode lines 7a, 7b and to make inspection and, therefore, the display defect arises at the time of inspection in the auxiliary electrode lines 7a, 7b having the high connection resistance and such auxiliary electrode lines are inspected to be defective and, therefore, the liquid crystal display device having the excellent display grade free from the display defects after the inspection is obtd.</p> |
