PURPOSE:To prevent picture quality after color conversion from deteriorating by performing color conversion processing so that the distribution of saturation in an original image is reflected. CONSTITUTION:A conversion area specifying means 3 specifies a color conversion area as an object of color conversion, a color component extracting means 4 detects image information in the color conversion area specified by the conversion area specifying means and extracts lightness information and saturation information, pixel by pixel, from the image information, and the hue of the color conversion area after the color conversion is set in a hue setting means 5; and image information generating means 6 and 7 generates and outputs image information after the color conversion, pixel by pixel, so as to obtain the hue having a lightness distribution and a saturation distribution based upon the hue set in the hue setting means and the lightness information and saturation information extracted by the color component extracting means. |
