The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner (1) with a blower (10), a filter bag (9) and a suction power indicator (14) which is controlled by detecting the pressure difference; in order to fit a vacuum cleaner as claimed with an indicator which indicates the relative suction power independently of the attachment used and thus also of the effective air passage, it is proposed that the pressure difference be derived from the depression in a suction channel (28) upstream of the filter bag (9) and the overpressure downstream of the blower (10).
