An apparatus for quick-freezing food and keeping it frozen, including a compartment (1) containing cold accumulators (7 and 3) previously cooled by means of an evaporator (2) and capable of releasing the accumulated cold during the quick-freezing process to cool the air in said compartment. The air is cooled at the same time by the evaporator (2) and caused to flow through a quick-freezing compartment (5) by fans (9). The same air is also used to cool a freezer compartment for storing the food (10).
