<p>A hand tool for cutting pipe has a body with first and second body parts (10, 11; 32, 35; 44, 46; 54, 55; 72, 73, 80) relatively movable together and apart, pipe support means (18, 19; 33, 37; 45; 65; 78) for supporting pipe to be cut, a circular cutter (24; 34; 53; 62; 76) and energy storage means (23; 40; 51; 70; 77). In use, with the pipe to be cut engaging the pipe support means, relative movement together of the first and second body parts charges the energy storage means so as to urge the pipe support means and the cutter relatively towards each other, whereby the pipe is severed by subsequent relative rotation between the body and the pipe. The energy storage means can be a spring arm which carries the cutter.</p> |
