Rolling bearing unit ready for installation

The bearing unit has two rolling bearings in the form of needle roller bearings (2,3). The second bearing (3) has a radially inward-pointing rim (9) of the first bearing engaging a radially outward-point rim (14) of the second bearing. The rim forms part of an axially extending collar (15) suspended from a radially inward-pointing section of the second bearing.The radially inward-pointing rim (9) is located eccentrically relative to the bearing axis. As an alternative, a radially inward-pointing rim of the larger bearing engages an outward-point rim of the smaller bearing. A protrusion is provided with slits uniformly distributed along its circumference. The rolling bearing unit is hardened as a single component.
