Shock absorber with support for pneumatic spring

The shock absorber comprises a roller tube (7) and an end cap (27) which have a connection (31), and form a modular unit. The connection permits an axial relative movement between the two, for installation, so that the tube moves away from the end cap, into its final position.The connection is a releasable installation connection, which opens during installation. It is formed as a press fit or snap connection. For installation, the end cap is pushed onto the spring carrier (13), and axial installation forces are applied, until the final installed position is achieved.
