<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the deterioration in transmission efficiency due to dummy data transmission and to eliminate the deterioration of the quality of a transmitted picture in a multichannel picture transmitter. CONSTITUTION:Since a compression rate controller 5 indicates a compression rate to compressing circuits 11 to 1m at every channel in accordance with data storing conditions in buffer memories 21 to 2m and in a transmission buffer memory 4, picture data is compressed by the compression rates being different at every compressing circuit. There is no necessity to transmit dummy data at the time of data transmission since picture data of the buffer memories 21 to 2m at every channel can be stored in the transmission buffer memory 4.</p> |
