<p>PURPOSE:To save a quantity of energy consumed by auxiliary light by controlling a quantity of light of the auxiliary light to be used according to a photographing operation mode of a camera. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary light generating mechanism has light emitting diodes(LED) 30 and 31 as light sources, LED driving circuits 12 and 13 and a brightness sensor 18 composed of a light receiving element to detect whether brightness of an object is darker than a predetermined level. When the brightness of the object is darker than the predetermined level at focus adjusting time (distance measuring time), both LEDs 30 and 31 are lighted, and a projecting pattern is projected, and a distance is measured, and at photographing time by a self timer, only the LED 30 is lighted, and self-photographing operation is shown to a person to be photographed. Thereby, even if a high intensity LED is not used as a light source of the auxiliary light generating mechanism, both focus adjusting auxiliary light and self-timer operation confirming auxiliary light can be generated, and at the same time, the manufacturing cost can be reduced.</p> |
