<p>Provided is a method for preparing a liquid coating composition which comprises: (a) forming a mixture comprising a suspension of coarse solid particles which include a curable resin and a cross-linking agent that is reactive with the curable resin, the coarse solid particles having a mean particle size of about 30 νm to 500 νm, in an aqueous liquid medium comprising water and a surfactant; and (b) milling the mixture at a temperature of up to about 40 °C to form a coating composition comprising a suspension of fine solid particles having a mean particle size of about 0.1 νm to 15 νm suspended in the aqueous liquid medium.</p> |
