In a process for mass prodn. of a component using gas-assisted injection polymer is injected via an outlet (6) into a tool cavity and injected gas forces excess melt into a separate storage chamber (14) while forming hollow sections in the plastic moulding. The ejected melt remains plastic in the storage chamber (14) while the moulding is cooled and demoulded and during a subsequent cycle is pumped back into the cavity. Claimed process equipment comprises a mould with suitable cavity, inlets (6,8) for injecting melt and gas and melt overflow outlets (11) each of which is connected to a melt storage chamber (14) forming a part for returning melt to the cavity. <IMAGE> |
