The tooth reconstruction piece (1) of elastic material is elongated in-shape, and has a total transverse measurement which, at least in parts, equals that of the natural gap (21) minus the wall thickness of the matrix (7). The transverse measurement is less than the natural gap under tensile expansion. When not tensioned, the tooth reconstruction piece is cylindrical with a dia. approx. 10 to 200% larger than the width of the natural gap.
