A cord stopper comprises a double-headed plug (5) having a pair of through holes (6, 6) formed one through each plug heads (5') perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis thereof; a pair of sockets (10, 10) each reciprocally fitted over the respective plug head (5', 5') and having a pair of apertures (13, 13) formed through the periphery thereof; and a pair of springs (16, 16) for normally urging the sockets (10, 10) away from each other.
