The assembly comprises a reversible and invertible mattress having a top, a bottom spaced below the top and spaced sides interconnecting the top and bottom. The mattress includes spaced lifting straps connected to the exterior of the sides adjacent the top and bottom. The straps serve for lifting, turning, reversing and inverting the mattress. A pillow-top extends over and rests on the mattress top. Spaced first connectors are anchored to the pillow-top adjacent the outer periphery and extend outwardly. Spaced second connectors are slidably mounted on the lifting straps, movable along the straps between the top and bottom. The first connectors are releasably connectable with the second connectors to releasably secure the pillow-top to the mattress.
