PURPOSE:To surely put a safety device into action and realize a smooth changing-over between the guide function of a plate and safety function by a method wherein a moving mechanism moving a foreign matter detecting member between a detecting position, which locates facing closely to the contact between a plate cylinder and a printing cylinder, and a plate cylinder drawing-off position, at which printed matter to be drawn off from the plate cylinder can be drawn off, is provided. CONSTITUTION:Since a safety cover 10 detects foreign matter at a position very close to a plate cylinder 2, no detection miss occurs. Further, since larger detecting action is possible, sure detection of foreign matter is realized. In addition, since the safety cover 10, which connects between a left and a right holders 8 along a shaft 7 supported between a left and a right frames, acts as a foreign matter detecting member, the safety cover 10 can have the same length as the length of the plate cylinder 2 or of a rubber cylinder 3. Thus, the detection of foreign matter over the whole longitudinal range of the plate cylinder 2 or of the rubber cylinder 3 can be realized. The changing-over between the foreign matter detecting position of the safety cover 10 and its plate cylinder drawing-off position for plate change can be realized in interlocking with the rocking action of a loader 4. |
