<p>PURPOSE: To obtain an orally administrable pharmaceutical formulation containing raloxifene, its ester, ether or salt and a hydrophilic carrier composition and useful for the anti-estrogen or anti-androgen therapy, etc. CONSTITUTION: This formulation can be produced by using raloxifene, its ester, ether or salt in combination with a surfactant (e.g. polysorbate 80) and a water- soluble diluent (e.g. lactose) as essential components and optionally compounding the above components with a hydrophilic binder (e.g. polyvinyl pyrrolidone), a lubricant, a disintegrant, etc. It can be formed in the form of tablet, capsule, etc., by conventional method and the tablet may be coated with a film. Raloxifene is useful also for the treatment of osteoporosis of postmenopausal women.</p> |
