PURPOSE:To provide a crystal transformation of 4,4'-bis{N'-(p-toluenesulfonyl) ureido}diphenylmethane forming colored images having highly excellent storage stability, and giving heat-sensitive recording media especially excellent in whiteness, sensitivity, etc. CONSTITUTION:This crystal transformation of the compound represented by the formula has a crystal (B) exhibiting strong peaks at diffraction angles (2theta) of 10.2 deg., 14.1 deg. and 19.1 deg. and intermediately strong peaks at diffraction angles of 6.6 deg., 8.4 deg. and 15.6 deg. with Cu-Kalpha rays. The crystal transformation having crystallinity exhibiting strong peaks at the diffraction angles (2theta) of 6.0 deg. and 21.2 deg. and intermediately strong peaks at 15.8 deg. and 19.0 deg., or having an amorphous state is preferable. |
