PURPOSE:To control an accurate printing paper carrying time and a supply energy to a fixing means by a method wherein carrying time of printing paper and energy for fixing to be given to the fixing means are controlled on the basis of an inference value of an operation amount by an inference means. CONSTITUTION:A CPU101 controls a function for calculating a degree of relevance an operational function, and a calculation function. Then, the function for calculating a relevance degree calculates a degree of relevance of a detected quantity of state on the basis of a membership characteristic function 102a of the quantity of state stored in a ROM102. Further, the operational function obtains an inference result of each rule stored as a form of a production rule 102b in the ROM102 by specific operation on the basis of a calculated degree of relevance. Further, the calculation function calculates a scanned amount on the basis of inference result of a control program 102c of each obtained rule. Carrying time of printing paper and energy for definition given to a fixing means are controlled on the basis of those enumerated inference values. Therefore, error in a control amount can be prevented from occurring. |
