The cooking burner has a positioning means for mounting the burner head on the burner body. The burner has a hollow burner body(2) having a head(21) with upper opening(24), concave sections(25, 26) on the outer periphery wall; burner cap(3) for covering the opening(24) and forming the flame holes, putting on the head(21); positioning means(7) having the notch section(71) on the outer periphery of the opening(24) engaged with the protrusion(72) projected from the burner cap(3). The upper peripheral surface(4a) of the opening is formed in a reverse-conical shape and the protrusion line(36) of the burner cap(3) is slanted from the upper surface(4a). The distance(M) between the center of the head(21) and the inner edge of the concave section(25) is longer than the distance(L) between the center of the burner cap(3) and center edge(74) of the protrusion(72).
