PURPOSE:To obtain a boride ceramic composite material excellent in resistance to fusion bonding to an Al alloy and high-temp. characteristics and having high strength and high toughness by dispersing fine particles of a specified metal in the grains of a molybdenum boride or chromium boride matrix. CONSTITUTION:Molybdenum boride or chromium boride is mixed with fine particles of Ti, Zr, Hf, Co or Ni and the resultant mixture is compacted and sintered at >=1,300 deg.C in vacuum or in an inert atmosphere to produce the objective boride ceramic composite material consisting of molybdenum boride or chromium boride having grains of 0.3-5mum grain size as a matrix and 3-30vol.% fine particles of Ti, Zr, Hf, Co ro Ni dispersed in the grains or grain boundaries. |
