PURPOSE:To provide a tea-like drink which is excellent in taste, color tone and nutrition and is useful for maintaining and increasing health by extracting roasted seeds of amaranth with water within a specific temperature range. CONSTITUTION:For example, seeds of amaranth are roasted into yellowish brown or brown with naked eye and extracted with water in an amount of 5-100 pts.wt. per 1 pt.wt. of the seeds at 50 to 100 deg.C, for 10 l 30 minutes, as the temperature is maintained, to provide the objective beverage. It is preferred that the drink is served directly as it is, or in the blend form with other drinks such as green tea, roasted wheat tea, or oolong tea. |
