PURPOSE:To enable a rider to view flight data while in a stationary position by producing signals of data about the flight of a hang glider or a paraglider, converting the signals into optical signals, and projecting the signals for display into a viewing field ahead of a power-supply-equipped helmet worn by the rider. CONSTITUTION:A flight data display device comprises a signal generator, display portions for the right and left eyes, a battery, and an arithmetic processing unit which performs arithmetic on output signals of a converter producing signals of the data required for control and which outputs the signals to the display portions. Each of the display portions comprises a display 14 that emits visible light for display at the input of display signals and an optical portion 16 that focuses a virtual image 15 at a far position for easy viewing. A coating for enhancing reflectivity is provided over the portion of the inner surface of a front shield 10 on which the light emitted by the display 14 falls, and the coating serves as a semitransparent mirror. The rider 2 can view the data required for control in front of him through the front shield 10, while watching the landscape. |
