<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of oxidation capacity, to keep stable desulfurizing capacity and to conserve water resources by using seawater in the formation of a calcium compd.-containing absorbing soln. and holding the pH of the absorbing soln. to a definite value or less. CONSTITUTION:Combustion exhaust gas after pretreatment is sent to an absorbing tower 2 through a cooling tower 1 or as it is for the purpose of cooling and the removal of dust to be brought into contact with an absorbing soln. containing the calcium compd. absorbent slurry formed by using seawater or a filtrate after solid-liquid separation supplied from a slurry preparing tank 4. Whereupon, sulfur oxide is absorbed and removed and, at the same time, the exhaust gas receives oxidation while the exhaust gas discharged from the absorbing tower 2 passes through a mist eliminator 5 and the mist-removed exhaust gas is subjected to heat exchange to be discharged to the atmosphere. Seawater is used as the supply water to the absorbing tower 2 and the pH of the absorbing tower 2 is held to below 4.5 and the concn. of Hg in the absorbing soln. is set to 10000mg/l or less.</p> |
