PURPOSE:To accurately detect temperature of a grooved roller having many grooves on outer periphery so as to stabilize temperature of the grooved roller in a wire saw which constitutes a wire row by winding a wire around the grooved roller, makes abrasive grains adhere to run at high speed, and presses a workpiece against the wire row to cut the workpiece into thin plates. CONSTITUTION:Cooling liquid is supplied from a cooling liquid supply device 51 having a cooling liquid temperature control function into bearing sections 20 and 30 which support a grooved roller 41 in such a way that it can rotate freely or the bearing sections 20 and 30 and the grooved roller 41. A temperature sensor 61 is embedded in the vicinity of outer periphery of the grooved roller 41 to detect temperature of the grooved roller 41 and command cooling liquid temperature for the cooling liquid supply device 51 by signals from the temperature sensor 61. |
