a preamplifier for amplifying a luminance signal and a chrominance signal from a tape; a chrominance signal separating lowpass filter connected to an output terminal of the preamplifier, for separating the chrominance signal from the output signals; an automatic gain control amplifier connected to the output terminal of the preamplifier, for controlling the output signals from the preamplifier, to thereby maintain the output signals in a constant level; an equalizer connected to an output terminal of the auto gain control amplifier, for trapping the chrominance signal and picking a specific frequency; a signal processing unit connected to output terminals of the chrominance signal separating lowpass filter and the equalizer, for processing the chrominance signal and the luminance signal outputted from the chrominance signal separating lowpass filter and the equalizer; and a luminance signal separating bandpass filter for removing a bandpass occupied excepting for the luminance signal between the preamplifier and the automatic gain control amplifier.
