PURPOSE:To improve the maintenance performance by instructing and training mechanics. CONSTITUTION:In addition to a normal fault search mode, a training mode for the purpose of the education of mechanics is provided and once a mechanic selects the training mode, an operation mode control part 13b fixes a device in the training mode. Then even when an inference mechanism part 14 searches for the cause of the fault, an example registration part 15g stops the update of storage of knowledge data stored in a diagnostic example type knowledge data storage part 16a. Consequently, the cause of the fault is searched for in the training mode and even when the trouble phenomenon is removed as a result of a measure based upon the search result, the knowledge data in the said diagnostic example type knowledge data storage part 16a are neither stored nor updated with the search result, thereby preventing the knowledge data from being rewritten by mistake during the training. |
