<p>PURPOSE:To make the long period preservation of vegetables, fruits and the like and, further, elongate the life of device (an ultraviolet possible lamp for gas removing device) for the long period preservation. CONSTITUTION:A gas removing device 22 is provided on the ceiling unit of a reserving chamber 9, capable of being used by switching it into a vegetable chamber, or a refrigerating chamber 6. The gas removing device 22 is constituted of a gas decomposing member, consisting of an optical catalyst, such as titanium oxide, zinc oxide and the like, and an ultraviolet lamp, which are provided in a case. In the gas removing device 22, active agent is generated on the surface of the optical catalyst when ultraviolet rays are projected against the optical catalyst whereby the growth expediting constituents of vegetables, such as ethylene, acetaldehyde and the like, or bad smell constituents, such as ammonium, trimetyl amine and the like, can be decomposed and removed. In this case, when the storage chamber 9 is used by switching it into a refrigerating chamber, the ultraviolet lamp is controlled so as to be put off. On the other hand, when the storage chamber is used by switching it into a vegetable chamber, the ultraviolet lamp is controlled so as to be put on or put off based on the opening or closing of the door of the storage chamber.</p> |
